Ruthanne (Ruthie) Withers joined LACCM in 2005 as a staff attorney in the Families & Children Unit where she handles all types of family law matters, including complex divorces, custody, visitation and child support. Ruthie, who is bilingual in Spanish and English, is actively involved in LACCM's Community Lawyering and Legislative Advocacy working groups. She is a member of the Committee on Services to the Poor & Homeless and Family Law Section of the Worcester County Bar Association. In law school, Ruthie gained clinical experience by working as a student attorney in the domestic violence session of the Dorchester District Court, where she assisted individuals obtain 209A Abuse Protection Orders. She also volunteered as a supervising team leader of Northeastern University School of Law's Domestic Violence Institute program at the Boston Medical Center, assisting victims of domestic violence with their civil legal needs in the hospital's Emergency Department. Ruthie is licensed to practice in Massachusetts.
