Njeri Gichohi is a staff attorney in LACCM's Families & Children Unit handling complex divorce, custody, support, visitation, and domestic abuse prevention matters.  While in law school Njeri served as a Student Prosecutor at the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, where she handled arraignment hearings for criminal defendants, argued motions on behalf of the Commonwealth and negotiated plea agreements with defense attorneys. Njeri also interned in the Appellate Division of the Suffolk County District Attorney's office and at the Insurance and Unemployment Fraud Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. Njeri's work in the public interest field began more than ten years ago when she volunteered to work for the Coalition Against Violence on Women (CAVoW), which was then a part of the National Council of Non-Governmental Organizations of Kenya.  At CAVoW Njeri worked on various projects committed to the eradication of all forms of violence against women and the promotion of women's human rights in Kenya. Njeri is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts.
